WEEKLY AWARDS

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
A’Liah Moore, Monmouth
Graduate Student | Forward | Manchester, N.J. / Manchester Township
Moore scored in both of Monmouth’s wins last weekend to position the Hawks for a chance at a regular season title in their inaugural CAA season. The forward from New Jersey tallied a goal in Thursday’s win over Delaware and the game-winner in Sunday’s victory against Drexel.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anja Suttner, Hofstra
Senior | Defender | Bodenkirchen, Germany / Maximilian-von-Montgelas Gymnasium
Suttner was a key contributor to a pair of Hofstra victories to help the Pride climb in the CAA standings. The two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year helped limit Charleston and UNCW to six shots each in a 2-0 week and scored the game-winner against the Cougars before stopping a shot on an open goal with the game on the line.

CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Vivian Akyirem, Northeastern
Freshman | Forward | Kumasi, Ghana / Berkshire School
Akyirem posted a goal and an assist in a 1-0-1 week for Northeastern. The freshman from Ghana tallied her first career assist in Thursday’s draw against Drexel and recorded her ninth goal of the year in Sunday’s win over Delaware. The honor is Akyirem’s second of the season and Northeastern’s third rookie selection.

CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Luciana Setteducate, Stony Brook
Freshman | Forward | Bellmore, N.Y. / Mepham
Setteducate is the third Stony Brook freshman to collect Rookie of the Week honors after a three-point day in Sunday’s win over UNCW. The freshman from Long Island tallied the game’s first goal and added an assist in the victory.

NEWS AND NOTES

GAME 9

The final day of the regular season arrives Sunday in CAA Women’s Soccer with five teams having clinched positions in the CAA Championship, five teams battling for the final three spots, and all host sites to be determined.

Monmouth, Northeastern, Elon, Towson, and Drexel have secured berths into the CAA Championship that begins Thursday. Stony Brook, Hofstra, UNCW, William & Mary, and Charleston will contend for the final three entries in Sunday’s slate, which includes head-to-head matchups between UNCW and Charleston in South Carolina and Stony Brook and Hofstra in Nassau County.

The winner of the Northeastern/Monmouth game on the Jersey Shore will secure the No. 1 seed in the CAA Championship; however, a draw between the Huskies and Hawks and an Elon win over Towson in Maryland would propel the Phoenix into the top spot via its victories over Monmouth and Northeastern.

All six games involve hosting or clinching factors on Sunday; five of six contests can be seen on FloFC at 1 p.m.

HONOR ROLL

CAA women’s soccer players continue to rack up national honors with two more recognized this week, as Monmouth’s A’Liah Moore and Hofstra’s Anja Suttner collected honorable mention nods.

It marked the sixth straight week at least two CAA women’s players and a minimum of three players across men’s and women’s soccer were recognized.

Players from 11 of 12 CAA programs have been recognized this fall, including multiple players from Charleston, Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth, Northeastern, Towson, and William & Mary.

HIGH FIVE!

Towson’s Nia Christopher scored five times in the Tigers’ win over Delaware State, breaking a program record and tallying two more goals than any other player in the nation in a single game this season.

Christopher’s five goals were the most by a CAA player in the 21st Century and one shy of the conference record set in 1996.
