OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Henry, UNCW
Junior | Midfield | China Grove, N.C. / South Rowan
Henry contributed to four of UNCW’s five goals in Sunday’s victory at UNCG with three goals and an assist. The junior from North Carolina scored in the 48th and 66th minutes, assisted in the 84th, and scored her third of the night 48 seconds later.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Bradenton, Fla. / IMG Academy
Barron did not allow a goal in 135 minutes of action over the weekend as the Cougars improved to 6-2-0 on the year. The sophomore from Florida made three saves and earned a clean sheet Thursday against Charleston Southern before holding Appalachian State scoreless while playing the first 45 minutes of Sunday’s victory.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Vivian Akyirem, Northeastern
Freshman | Forward | Kumasi, Ghana / Berkshire School (Mass.)
Akyirem scored twice for Northeastern on the week, including a highlight-reel goal in the 89th minute against RV/No. 20 Brown to earn a draw with the Bears. The freshman from Ghana is tied for second in the CAA with five goals this season.

NEWS AND NOTES
STRONG START
The CAA holds a .563 winning percentage in non-conference play through Sunday.
Drexel closed out non-conference play at 5-0-3 and is one of 32 remaining unbeaten teams nationally, while Monmouth (5-1-0) and Towson (5-1-1) have been limited to one defeat.
The CAA has multiple wins and no losses against the Patriot League (7-0-2), America East (4-0-1), and Sun Belt (4-0-0), along with a 6-2-1 mark against the Big South and 5-2-1 vs. the NEC.

The Drexel women’s and men’s soccer programs are off to a strong start to 2022
The the women’s team closed out non-conference play at 5-0-3, while the men’s team is 2-1-2 to begin the year.
CHARLESTON OFFENSE ROLLING
Charleston has scored 20 goals in eight games with two goals in all six wins of a 6-2-0 start.
Grace Powell leads the CAA with six goals this season, while Bubbles Dever is second with four assists.
TEAM NOTES
CHARLESTON
• Charleston has scored a league-leading 20 goals this season and Grace Powell leads the conference individually with six.
• The Cougars have recorded a shutout in five of six victories.
DELAWARE
• The Blue Hens’ three draws in their first six games this season were more than their entire amount from 2019-21 (2).
• Izzy Lane assisted on three of Delaware’s four goals in the opening 1-0-1 weekend.
DREXEL
• Drexel’s 5-0-3 start is the best in program history.
• The Dragons are one of 32 remaining unbeaten teams entering the week.
ELON
• Elon outshot its opponents 51-17 in a 1-0-1 week last week.
• The four-goal effort against UNC Asheville was Elon’s highest since scoring eight on Sept. 15, 2019.
HAMPTON
• Hampton is in a stretch of six games in six different states (Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, South Carolina, New York).
• The Pirates picked up their first win of the year with a 10-0 rout of USCAA member Regent. Maya Martir factored into five goals in 21 minutes of play, scoring three times and adding two assists.
HOFSTRA
• Skylar Kuzmich has recorded four shutouts this season.
• The Pride’s setback against Oregon on Sunday night was just its second in its last 29 home contests.
MONMOUTH
• Monmouth’s .833 winning percentage leads the conference after a 5-1-0 start to the year.
• The Hawks’ 14 assists lead the conference this fall.
UNCW
• Madison Henry’s hat trick Sunday was the eighth in program history and first since 2016.
• The Seahawks are in a stretch of seven straight matchups in the state of North Carolina.
NORTHEASTERN
• Vivian Akyirem is one of seven freshmen in the nation with five or more goals this season.
• All three of Northeastern’s victories this fall have been by 1-0 margins.
STONY BROOK
• Stony Brook has committed the sixth-fewest fouls nationally at 5.50 per game.
• The Seawolves have scored 2+ goals in four of six contests this season.
TOWSON
• Towson’s Sunday game at Navy was canceled at halftime due to heavy rain and field conditions.
• Riley Melendez has five shutouts in four games this season and 13 solo for her collegiate career.
WILLIAM & MARY
• William & Mary has two victories this season over teams that played in the NCAA Tournament a year ago (Old Dominion, High Point).
• Zoe Doughty has recorded three shutouts in seven contests this season.
