St. John's will play the CAA's Towson Women's Soccer in their home opener on August 22nd at 6 pm ET at Tiger Field in an early season test for the women's soccer programs. The contest will mark the first meeting between the two programs since 2016 and the fourth all-time. St. John's holds a 2-0-1 series over Towson and last visited Tiger Field eight years ago. 

Towson, ranked 3rd in the 2024 CAA Preseason Coaches Poll, is 1-1 to start the season after earning a shutout win against the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Senior Rebecca Groseibi scored Towson's first goal of the season in the win.

The Tigers are coming off an excellent 15-3-2 season where they won nine out of ten games played at home on Tiger Field. Towson picked up their first CAA Championship in program history, defeating Monmouth 2-1 before going to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history where they took on UNC.

The St. John's women's soccer team started the new season strong with a 2-0 win over Colgate at home in Belson Stadium. Senior forwards, Lauryn Tran and Jordyn Levy, tallied goals as the Red Storm won its 13th consecutive home opener, dating back to 2012. 

The Johnnies were predicted to finish sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason poll and return 16 players while adding 15 newcomers.
